Violin Virtuoso

He has been called the most amazing Violinist of our time. His name is synonomous with style, grace and elegance. Perhaps the most amazing fact about 33 year old Joshua Bell is that he never dreamed he would find himself playing the Violin.
"I thought I would be your average Joe... flipping burgers or something. I never knew it would go this far." He says with a timid grin. For anyone who has witnessed this musical prodigy do his thing, you have witnessed a wonder that comes along once in a lifetime.
"His music will move right through you. It brings tears to my eyes. He's so natural. He was meant to do this," says composer John Corigliano, who worked with Bell on the Oscar winning soundtrack to the film "The Red Violin."
Since hitting the scene, Bell has been swamped by both music lovers.. and just people wanting to love him. He looks like a teenager, and plays like an old soul whose only escape is through the magic that sweeps through that unstoppable bow. Even still, at a concert in Germany recently, women threw their underwear at the boyish beauty, screaming his name as if he were a lost member of the beatles.
"I don't ever get the sex symbol thing... It's hard for me to have an ego. It would be nice to brag and sota toss my head."
Nevertheless, all eyes are on Joshua Bell in 2001. With a new album on the horizon, and a lot to look forward too, he is a legend in the making.
