A little bit of Brit!

He has eyes that could melt your heart, and face that makes you swoon like drunk Aunt Sophie at the last New Years Party. Perhaps what is most interesting about young british hearthrob Hugh Dancy is the impressive work behind him. He has starred in the Hallmark Hall of Fame television mini-series 'David Copperfeild,' in the most demanding role of his career, as the title character. He's been a regular on the high brow british drama, 'Madam Bovrey' and the soon to be aired 'Cold Feet'.
However, on American Shores, his career is about to explode, with the upcoming Drama, "Sleeping Dictionaries," and the sweeping World War I epic, "To the Green Feilds" which will be helmed by Award winning director Sam Mendes (American Beauty.)
An Oxford graduate with no professional acting experience was quite a magnificent discovery for Agents Peters, Fraser and Dunlop. Now the name Hugh Dancy seems to be dancing on the lips of every Hollywood player.
DANCY, 23, son of a philosophy professor, says quite modestly, "This has all happened so quickly but I am trying to take it a step at a time and not get too excited about it."
After completing his A-levels at Winchester College, Dancy studied English Literature at Oxford and took part in student productions.
"After I graduated I had no idea how to get into acting so I toyed with the idea of drama school and got a job all aspiring actors do -- working in a bar. But luckily for me it only lasted six months."
Since being signed up, he has played Nigel Haver's son in an episode of Dangerfield.
But he was also surprised to get the role of a violent gang member in the recent Lynda La Plante drama, "Trial and Retribution."
He has also starred as a heroin addict in an episode of "Kavanagh QC" to be screened next year and played an orphan in an American TV production of Robin Hood.
"The best aspect of this has been that I can pay off my student loan," he said.
Move over DiCaprio, forget about Heath Ledger, this star is positively going to shine!
